I studied at The Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 2001 with a BA (HONS) degree in Woven Textile Design. In 2006 I took a year out to learn about Jacquard weaving in India, Bangalore. While there I designed and developed a large collection of jacquard woven home furnishings fabrics, whilst using the most up to date textile computer packages. Since then I have been working full time for The Glasgow School of Art as a Weave and Jacquard Technician. My textile passion lies in woven interior textiles and in the experimental manipulation of structures and geometric patterns. I love to combine traditional and modern weaving techniques to create three-dimensional unique and innovative fabrics.
Commissioning a piece of work is a chance to have something made especially for you, it can be one of a kind and the opportunity to really engage in the creative process. Chantal is happy to discuss any individual requirements and ideas, which clients may have about design, yarn, structures and finish. Please email talweaver@hotmail.com if you have a project you would like Warped Textiles to work on.
